Femi Oke
Church Planter
Femi was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria; attended secondary schools at Government college Ikorodu and Anglican grammar school
After spending his early adult life in Nigeria, working in the non-profit world and later in construction management, Femi moved to the United States in 2016 to study psychology at the University of Tennessee Knoxville but later ended up studying at a seminary in Charlotte.
Femi grew up Anglican and came to faith as a child in the same church. But he became more aware of his great sin and the need for a great savior much later. He became an intern and later ordained Ruling Elder in the Presbyterian Church in America and served as Director of Discipleship and Evangelism at Vive Charlotte from 2021 to 2022.
The last couple of years of training in seminary classrooms and serving in the local church have prepared him for a lifetime of ministry. In 2020, Femi began to sense the burden to reach his people and was compelled to take the step of faith in reaching out to Africans living in the United States with the biblical doctrine of Justification by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone for the glory of God alone.
Femi’s spiritual life and philosophy of ministry have been greatly influenced by Matt Avery, Bishop E. Dahunsi, Sam Adeyemi, Drew Martin, Charles McKnight, Femi Omotayo, and the elders at Hope Community Church. When he has some time for himself, he loves to play and watch soccer, play pool and think about new entrepreneurial adventures.
